This week we spotlight website & marketing client Rebecka Ray (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Onion, NY Lottery), actor & filmmaker, sharing advice:
How long have you been a part of the industry?
“Forever?!?! I went to NYU Tisch School of the Arts and never stopped!”
What inspired you to pursue acting, writing, directing?
“As a child I was always playing, creating, acting out stories and characters. It is where I find my joy.”
What work are you most proud of recently?
“I was pleased to be a small part of a new AppleTV show coming out soon, I got to make use of my Hebrew speaking abilities!”
What advice would you give to fellow actors, writer, directors?“Create your own work! It gives you a chance to collaborate with fellow actors, as well as establish new connections and work different creative muscles. Creating your own work also gives you some control in a very uncertain world, and you can stay productive over zoom. I helped produce and acted in a trilogy of films that are now on the festival circuit, and we already won over 17 awards! Check it out at: https://www.facebook.com/DRIFTWOODTHESHORT”
How do you stay motivated and active in your career?
“These are certainly challenging times! I find yoga helpful, as well as always having a project to work on, and being in a class with Anthony Grasso.”
What are you working on now?
“I have a new web series in the works – more to be revealed soon!”
