How long have you been a part of the industry?
Professionally, for about 10 years now

What inspired you to pursue acting, writing, directing?
I have been fascinated with characters since I was a child. I remember seeing “Fried Green Tomatoes” and “The Color Purple” as a young child, and both of those films changed me. Those stories and characters were so rich, they made me feel emotions that I was not aware of or had ever felt before. That is when I knew I wanted to be an actor and create stories too!

What work are you most proud of recently?
My short film, ALIENated was super fun, till this day I love the story and I may write more about that story one day. I loved playing Mrs. Parker in Hidden Orchard Mysteries: The Case of the Air B&B Robbery, I got to play a villain. I had so much fun doing the audition and when I actually booked the role and really got to tap into that type of character, it was fun! I also really enjoyed being an on-camera host for Sesame Street in Communities Industrial, what an honor, and the content was very helpful for parents. I played a prostitute who was a wanna-be Soul Train dancer named Tammy in Loreen’s Gotta Boogie. What a fun and colorful character to play, I also love period pieces.

What advice would you give to actors, writers, filmmakers?
Find GOOD training. Audit and find a great acting teacher or studio that resonates with your soul, study the craft. There are many ways to study. Research, watch films, watch tv, go see plays, visit museums, travel, read books, etc. Dive into your own personal hobbies outside of acting, go to therapy, meditate, workout, do yoga, listen to music, dance, find your tribe, keep your health 1st! health and wellness are the keys to success and abundance….take life one day at a time because this career is a marathon. Stay focused on your God-given gifts and talents and let them lead you, don’t chase anything, attract! Remember, life is short so do something you love every day. Set goals, write them down, speak them out loud daily, listen to affirmations. Connect with God (whatever that means to you) Keep going and never give up!

How do you stay motivated and active in your career?
I am very spiritual and very much connected to God. My daily life revolves around praising, worshiping, and building a stronger connection to God. I feel that because I am connected to God I am able to be guided divinely! I stay motivated knowing that I am a gift to this world and God will express itself through me via my gifts and talents….so I guess just having the knowing confidence that my purpose is powerful and I am here for a reason. Also, I am inspired by some amazing actresses that I look up to, knowing their stories and where they came from is very inspiring to see their careers now. When I see beautiful art, whether it’s a film, a portrait, a forest, a painting, an ocean, animals having fun, kids playing and laughing, it motivates me to create more beautiful art in some way. That could be through a commercial audition, a network tv booking, a pottery class that I’m taking, a fun voiceover audition… it’s all inspiring and motivating!

What are you working on now?
I recently booked a recurring co-star on a crime/drama, SAG-AFTRA New Media Series and it will air this spring/summer. I will announce the digital platform and name of the series at that time. I am also Associate Producer on “ODINA” which is a live-action TV Short based on the Comic Book Series Odina written and created by Onaji Rouse, we are currently in pre-production and will start filming next month in April. I also have some of my own writing projects that I am working on…Otherwise, I am very busy with auditions (I love my agents) and living my best life to the fullest outside of acting 🙂
