How long have you been a part of the industry?
Too long. I started when I was 16 as a mobile DJ. Then in my 20’s I started to do stand-up shows and Improv at The Second City. That lead to acting in sketches and video projects. Mainly comedy and on occasion drama.

What inspired you to pursue acting, writing, directing?
I was really inspired by John Belushi. He was so talented and wild. I wanted to be him. My Dad told me about SNL back in 1975 and I was just blown away. It’s the reason I went to Chicago to study with The Second City.

What work are you most proud of recently?
I have a few things I’m really proud of. I know this isn’t recent but, my one-man show – One Angry Man I did back in 2009. I’m also proud of my short film documentary -In The Name of Comedy. We won 7 film festival awards. I also feel very good about the comedy promo I did with Bruce Willis for Funny or Die.

What advice would you give to fellow actors, writers, directors?
First of all, I would only give a fellow actor, writer, or director advice if they asked me for it. I would tell all of them to put their heart into their work. If and when your film or TV project comes out, promote it and support it at film festivals. Always be a nice person and don’t be a phony.

How do you stay motivated and active in your career?
I love this stuff. I guess I need attention. It’s also very challenging and for some crazy reason I like challenges. Money also drives me these days. I have a manager who submits me for TV and Film roles and the auditions keep me busy.

What are you working on now?
In the real world I’m a publisher of a magazine and an inventor of a product (Pro Mat 99) I hope to get on the market soon.

In big time show business, I’m going to be working on a great Tom Ryan horror film that shoots pretty soon. I also have some comedy sketches I’ve written that I would like to shoot. Lastly, I keep going back to the idea of doing another one-man show. I have most of it written already. Let’s see what time brings.
